On the west end of Folly island, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Folly River. The county run park has Lifeguards who are on duty seasonally with a designated swimming area. Skimmer Flats a breeding colony for Eastern Brown Pelican's, is at the west end of the park. Amenities include seasonal beach chair and umbrella rentals, restrooms, and seasonal retail and snack bars. The Folly Beach Pier which stretches 1045 feet into the Atlantic provides a great opportunity for enjoying the views, other activities available are saltwater fishing, walking and birding.
